A lot is being talked at the moment about Andrew Lansley's proposed reforms to the NHS. How do we all feel about this - long overdue restructuring to save money, or moving towards a more US-style health system based on an insurance-type model.

Does anyone really understand the proposal and what it might mean ?
How would it affect the less well-off in society ?
Could it improve patient care ?

A protest petition has been started at http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/s/Protect_our_NHS_Petition#petition which claims to have just short of 300,000 names.
