Anyone have any experiences with pole eruptions? This morning BT turned up and planted a new full size pole 9 metres from our kitchen window on Springhead road. It is now being connected up to provide a complete veil over the valley view. Nailed to the pole is a form enabling me to write to object to an office in Bedford. It is on a blind bend, and so watch out if you tuck into the hedge too tight....

I thought they had to get planning permission for a new pole (ie. not just replacing an old rotten one). Might be worth a call to the planning dept at EDDC on (01395) 571531

Geoff.

According to the label on the pole, "Schedule 3 Amendment Communications Act 2003" is basically stating that BT can shoot first, and public ask questions afterwards. They install, then you can object in writing within 3 months.

Anyway, not all bad news, they have responded quickly to phone and written submission, new option may remove the pole completely by using other existing ones.

What a waste of everyones time. I suppose they work on the assumption that people won't bother ?
