I would like to recommend Miller's Farm Shop in Kilmington for very good value fruit and veg, some of which is grown adjacent to the shop. Also a stock a range of wines, cheeses and other deli type produce, mostly imported directly from France by Malcolm Miller himself. Malcolm is often on hand to assist you if required.

Directions: Head north out of the village to Hunters Lodge. Turn left on the A35 until you reach Kilmington. Turn right opposite the Old Inn and immediately right again into Miller's.

Plus points:

good quality fresh produce (some organic) at fair prices,
helpful and friendly staff,
lots of parking space,
it's not Tescos.

Minus points:

can get a but busy at weekends, holidays etc.

Geoff.
(NB I have no connection with Miller's other than as a happy customer)[/list]

The only minus point here is that so much of the produce comes from France. But of course that beats the supermarkets hands down. I bet you won't find french beans from Kenya or apples from Chile at Miller's.

Yep, you are right John, someone told me he has a farm in France where he grows some of the produce. He also imports quite a lot of French wine and beer.

By the way I would very much like to encourage people do comment to recommendations - either positively or negatively..

There's now also a fresh fish stall at Millers. I understand it opens on Fridays. Anyone tried it yet ?

Wonder if it is as good as the guy halfway down the slipway in beer ?
